Welcome to the Plume Films Blog…
Images can make themselves
Hello and welcome to the Plume Films Blog! We're thrilled to open up our world of handcrafted, handmade animation to you. If you love seeing how things are made, discovering the little sparks of inspiration, and appreciating the accidental beauty that can emerge from the creative process, you're in the right place.
It might be an unexpected opacity bleed, a layer mid build, or an unfinished sketch that has a life of its own. These aren't necessarily 'mistakes' or 'happy accidents' but rather pleasing, fleeting glimpses into the heart of the work-in-progress. They are the raw, unpolished gems that often get lost in the final, polished product.
When building the Turner animation for Tate. Occasionally something so unusual happens and it has to be saved.
That's why we've decided to create this "Sketchbook Blog." With each new entry, we'll delve into a specific project or idea, and we'll often share one of these unique "saved frames." Think of it as peeking over our shoulders, seeing the work unfold before it's fully complete. It's a celebration of the creative journey, the design process, and the unexpected beauty found within each animated story we tell.
Quite by chance the landscape is formed.
We invite you to explore with us, to appreciate the artistry in every stage of animation, and to see the world through our handcrafted lens.
Stay tuned for our first deep dive and our very first saved frame!
